Of couse course not. Not using sub-tasks subtasks has some drawbacks, one of them being worklog and the logged work time presentation on the parent, where all work on this and subtasks can be seen and measured..

There are som ways to overcome this, I have actually written a groovy script that can travel links from a certain tasks and sum up logged work in all links.
